There are so many wonderful things to do and explore during the winter months. Wild Weekend Adventures found activities that range from ice climbing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to polar bear dipping at the Tip Up Town festival in Houghton Lake . We are sure you will have fun watching these videos. Who knows, maybe we will see you out there! Related Links: New Baltimore Lions: The New Baltimore Lions club presents the Polar Plunge. The plunge is an annual event and usually takes place in late January. All entry fees are donated to local charities. Tip Up Town USA: Tip-Up Town USA is Michigan’s largest winter festival held every year in Houghton Lake, during the last two weekends of January. Events include the Polar Plunge, Ice Slide, Snowmobile racing, broomball and much more. Shanty Creek Resort: Join Shanty Creek Resorts, a stunning Northern Michigan ski resort, to celebrate the infamous annual Slush Cup Race, one of many fun Charlevoix things to do. Come and enjoy an exciting winter carnival of entertaining weekend activities. Eben Ice Caves: If you would like to explore or ice climb the Eben Ice Caves, it is open to all visitors. It is a bit of a walk and we encourage you to bring snow shoes if there was a recent snow. Here are the directions. Michigan Icefest: Michigan Icefest is your opportunity to experience the sport of ice climbing. All equipment and instruction is provided for you by your friends at Down Wind Sports. You can climb frozen waterfalls and other ice structures in the Munising Michigan Area. Keuka Ice Dive: If you are interested in the Keuka Ice Dive you may want to check with the Grand Traverse Bay Underwater Preserve (GTBUP). Scheduled dive information can be found as well as other diving information.
